Women in Politics Scholarship benefit to be held Oct. 29

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The sixth Bipartisan Women in Politics Scholarship benefit will be held Thursday, Oct. 29, at the Park Place Event Centre in Cedar Falls. This event will feature guest speaker Christie Vilsack, senior adviser for International Education, U.S. Agency for International Development.

Vilsack works with education leaders worldwide to build understanding of and support for international education solutions, while focusing on children's reading skills, workforce development, and equitable access to education in crisis and conflict settings.

The event will begin with a social time at 6 p.m., and dinner at 6:30 p.m. Net proceeds from the event benefit UNI's Women in Politics Scholarship.
