U.S. News & World Report once again ranks UNI among top Midwest public universities

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The University of Northern Iowa is ranked second in the "Best Regional Universities (Midwest)" category for public universities, according to the U.S. News & World Report's 2016 "America's Best Colleges" guidebook. UNI also ranked No. 18 in the overall Midwest list.

"It is such an honor that UNI has once again been recognized as one of the best public institutions of higher learning in the Midwest," said UNI President Bill Ruud. "We are dedicated to provide our students an accessible, affordable and excellent education. This prestigious ranking only validates our commitment to our students and their educational experience."

The magazine's ranking criteria include peer assessment, academic reputation, retention, faculty resources, student selectivity, graduation-rate performance and alumni giving rate.
