UNI's Young People's Dance Theatre to hold 'informance' April 26

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa --Young People's Dance Theatre (YPDT) at the University of Northern Iowa will present an 'informance,' at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26, in UNI's Strayer-Wood Theatre.

YPDT is a before and after school dance program offered to second- through fifth-graders in several area schools.

Children from each school will perform a dance that they worked together to create. They also will perform a dance they learned from their instructors. There also will be a dance by YPDT instructors, and a guest performance by members of the UNI Orchesis Dance Company. Admission is $1 at the door.

Program instructors are UNI dancers and education majors who receive practicum credit.

YPDT is offered at the following elementary schools: Janesville and Jesup; in Waterloo at Black Hawk, Edison, Queen of Peace Centers at St. John's and at St. Mary's, and the Walter Cunningham School for Excellence; and in Cedar Falls at Hansen, Lincoln, North Cedar and Malcolm Price Laboratory School.
