UNI to induct students into Teacher Education Program on April 2

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The University of Northern Iowa College of Education will induct 250 students into the teacher education program at the Teacher Education Induction Convocation at 4 p.m., Tuesday, April 2, in the Great Hall of the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center. A reception will follow in the GBPAC lobby. 

This will be the 45th group of candidates inducted into the Teacher Education program since formal ceremonies began in 1991.

Leigh Martin, international and out-of-state student teaching coordinator/supervisor in the Office of Student Field Experiences, will deliver the convocation address. Katheryn East, chair of the Teacher Education Faculty, will present, pin and affirm the candidates. Gloria Gibson, executive vice president and provost, will grant admission to the teacher education program.

Parents and friends of the candidates are invited, along with UNI faculty and administrators.
