CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- More than 50 people will become new American citizens during a ceremony on the University of Northern Iowa campus. The citizenship oath ceremony will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 17,in the Maucker Union Ballroom. This event is free and open to the public.
"We are looking forward to hosting our second citizenship ceremony. People who have attended have found it a deeply moving experience," said Mark Grey, director of the Iowa Center for Immigrant Leadership and Integration.
The Office of the President, the Iowa Center for Immigrant Leadership and Integration, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, and the U.S. District Court for Northern Iowa are sponsoring the ceremony.
