UNI to host lecture on ‘Cultural Challenges to Broadening Participation in Mathematics’

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – Philip Kutzko, a professor of mathematics and CLAS Collegiate Fellow at the University of Iowa, will present a lecture titled “It’s an Ethnic Thing: Cultural Challenges to Broadening Participation in Mathematics” at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, April 14, in Lantz Auditorium in McCollum Science Hall on the University of Northern Iowa campus.

Kutzko has been invited to UNI as the feature speaker for the 2016 Hari Shankar Memorial Lecture, and his lecture will present a rethinking of how mathematics is taught at universities today.
