UNI to host interactive exhibit at Iowa State Fair

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The University of Northern Iowa will host an interactive exhibit at the Iowa State Fair 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 13, through Sunday, Aug. 23, in the Varied Industries Building. Fairgoers can visit with alumni, faculty, staff and students, as well as pick up Panther tattoos, athletic posters and other giveaways.

There will be a multimedia interactive station which will include three 55-inch touch screen monitors that will allow visitors, alumni and prospective students to explore different majors and opportunities offered at UNI. UNI President Bill Ruud will visit with guests from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 15. At 4 p.m., Ruud will show a steer at the Governor's Charity Steer Show.

On Saturday, Aug. 22, special appearances will include UNI women’s head basketball coach Tonya Warren from 9 to 11 a.m. and UNI men's head basketball coach Ben Jacobson from 1 to 3 p.m. UNI mascots TC and TK will be at the fair from 10 to 11 a.m., noon to 1 p.m. and 2 to 3 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 13. They will also be there from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 15. Other special appearances on Aug. 15 include wrestling coach Doug Schwab from 1 to 3 p.m. Panther fans are encouraged to wear their UNI colors Saturday, Aug. 15, and stop by the booth.

University Book & Supply will sell UNI clothing, Panther gear and memorabilia at this year's booth.
