CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The University of Northern Iowa will again host an interactive exhibit at the Iowa State Fair. The exhibit will be open to fairgoers from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 7, through Sunday, Aug. 17, in the Varied Industries Building.
The exhibit will offer interactive multimedia stations, complete with three 55-inch touch screen monitors. The monitors will allow visitors, alumni and prospective students to explore the many different majors and opportunities UNI has to offer. Alumni will also be able to use the stations to connect with UNI alumni services.
Saturday, Aug. 9, is UNI Day at the Iowa State Fair, and attendees are encouraged to wear their Panther gear. UNI President Bill Ruud will visit with guests, alumni, and prospective students and their families from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. He will also show a steer at the Governor's Charity Steer Show at 4 p.m.
Special appearances will be made by UNI women's head basketball coach Tonya Warren and staff from 9 to 11 a.m., Sunday, Aug. 17. UNI men's head basketball coach Ben Jacobson and staff will be at the exhibit that same day from 2:30 to 5 p.m. UNI mascots TC and TK will be at the fair from 10:45 to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 9; 1 to 2 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 14; and noon to 1 p.m., 2 to 3 p.m. and 4 to 5 p.m., Saturday, Aug.16.
Visitors are invited to grab a Panther football poster, a temporary Panther tattoo and other UNI giveaways. University Book & Supply will sell UNI clothing, Panther gear and memorabilia in conjunction with the exhibit.
