CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- Students from the University of Northern Iowa have received scholarships from the Kurt Warner First Things First Foundation. Warner, a UNI alumnus, established the scholarship program to benefit hard-working students who are dedicated to community service.

The scholarship is offered to students at UNI, Missouri Baptist College in St. Louis, St. Louis University and the University of Missouri-St.Louis. The students receive a $4,000 scholarship payable over four years, which is matched by the university and supported by a work-study program and mentor.

Warner scholars from UNI are; Clinton Miller, a junior finance and real estate major from Strawberry Point; Kristen Kuecker, a freshman health promotion major from Algona; Renee Maurer, a sophomore education major from Iowa City; and Ben Schaefer, a freshman, major undecided, from Cedar Falls.
