UNI student-produced documentary, ‘The Voiceless,’ to be screened at Gallagher Bluedorn

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – “The Voiceless,” a documentary that features the stories of five male survivors of sexual violence, will be screened at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 5, at the Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center on the University of Northern Iowa campus.

Vanessa McNeal, a graduate student in the UNI Department of Social Work, produced the film. The documentary explores taboos, stereotypes, intersectionality and the impact of sexual violence on male survivors. A panel discussion with McNeal and subjects from the film will follow the screening.

“The Voiceless” was co-produced by PLVTO Productions and was funded by the Iowa Board of Regents, Office of the Provost, Center for Violence Prevention, and Heart and Solutions, with support from UNI Student Wellness Services, Riverview Center and Sigma Phi Epsilon.
