CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- John Len Wiles, associate professor in the UNI School of Music, and Susan Hill, professor in the Department of Philosophy and World Religions, will collaborate to present Vox Peregrini: Transforming the Musical Ensemble through Pilgrimage. The presentation will be at 7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 12, in Russell Hall, Room 116.

"All of the major world religions value the pilgrimage or spiritual journey for its transformative effects on individuals and cultures," said Hill. "In June 2015, John Wiles led a group of musicians on a pilgrimage following The Wicklow Way in Ireland. Walking for hours every day, rehearsing along the route and performing at the end of the journey was exhilarating, exhausting and life-changing."

During the presentation, attendees will experience music, pictures and words as they explore the multifaceted connections between music and pilgrimage.
