CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- John Len Wiles, associate professor in the UNI School of Music, and Susan Hill, professor in the UNI Department of Philosophy and World Religions, will present "Vox Peregrini: Transforming the Musical Ensemble Through Pilgrimage." The presentation will be held at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 28, in Russell Hall, Room 116, on the University of Northern Iowa campus.

"All of the major world religions value the pilgrimage or spiritual journey for its transformative effects on individuals and cultures," said Hill. "In June 2015, John Wiles led a group of musicians on a pilgrimage following The Wicklow Way in Ireland. Walking for hours every day, rehearsing along the route and performing at the end of the journey was exhilarating, exhausting and life changing."

During the presentation, attendees will experience music, pictures and words as they explore the multifaceted connections between music and pilgrimage.
