CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The University of Northern Iowa was included in the TIME Money list of the top "20 Best Colleges You Can Still Get Into for the Fall." UNI is the only university or college in Iowa on the list.
The list is released following the May 1 national response deadline, when many institutions require deposits from students who have been offered admission. Many of the colleges willing to accept late applications are some of the best schools in the country.
"Many students are still making decisions on their fall plans, and some students may find themselves in circumstances where they are wanting to change their existing plans," said Matt Kroeger, UNI's associate vice president for enrollment management. "UNI is proud and happy to be an accessible higher education option for students in Iowa and beyond."
UNI is one of the most accessible and affordable universities in the state of Iowa. In fact, it is the most affordable four-year institution for in-state students. Approximately 97 percent of UNI's 2013-14 graduates are employed or are continuing their education within six months of graduation, and when UNI students graduate, they owe less money than students who graduate from most all other four-year institutions in Iowa.
Prospective undergraduate students interested in applying to UNI have until August 1 to submit their application. Admission details, campus visit information and the admission application can be found at uni.edu/admissions/.
