CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – Award-winning math and science projects that integrate technology into pre-K- through-12 classrooms will be featured during Spotlight on STEM Day on Thursday, Feb. 27, at the Innovative Teaching & Technology Center on the University of Northern Iowa campus.

Teachers and students throughout the state, along with UNI faculty, will showcase their work through table displays, demonstrations and presentations. They will discuss the challenges they face as they integrate technology, science and mathematic programs into the classroom while still meeting their school's need to increase student achievement. Some of the presentations to be displayed are award-winning projects associated with the Impacting Achievement with Collaborations and Technology (IMPACT) program.

The day will begin with a welcome at 8:45 a.m., followed by an opportunity for presenters to view the other spotlight gallery displays. From 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., displays will be open to the public. A series of 20-minute spotlight presentations will take place from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., with closing comments and door-prize drawings at 3:30 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public. For additional information, contact Doreen Hayek, special projects administrator at UNI's ITS-Educational Technology, at 319-273-7300 or
