UNI film series to explore 'Bionic Beauty Salon' Wednesday, April 17

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- 'Bionic Beauty Salon,' the final film in the University of Northern Iowa's 'Reel to Real' film series, will be presented at noon, Wednesday, April 17, in the University Room North in Maucker Union.

'The film addresses the insecurities of women of all ages who use beauty as a measure of self-worth,' said Guy Sims, associate director/student activities, Maucker Union.

A discussion will follow the 22-minute film, facilitated by Heather Soesbe, customer service specialist in the UNI Office of Financial Aid.

Sims said the 'Reel to Real' film series presents short films worthy of reflection, discussion and criticism, in a setting that is both comfortable and conduciveto conversation. 'Reel to Real' is sponsored by Maucker Union Student Activities Office.
