CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The University of Northern Iowa conducted an annual emergency exercise on Monday, Dec. 7. The exercise consisted of a tabletop relating to the university's response to an unexpected weather-related emergency.
Participants included representatives from public safety and other departments involved in managing an emergency. The purpose of the exercise was to review, assess and evaluate the university's emergency plans and capabilities.
An additional part of the exercise consisted of a drill to test the university's procedure for setting up an emergency call center in response to the emergency.
