UNI College of Education to host bi-annual Teacher Education Induction Convocation

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The University of Northern Iowa College of Education will host its bi-annual Teacher Education Induction Convocation at 4 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 28, in the Great Hall of the Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center.

The 395 students who have satisfied requirements for admission into the Teacher Education Program are invited to participate in the formal induction ceremony. Len Froyen, professor emeritus, will deliver the convocation address. Jim Wohlpart, provost and executive vice president for academic affairs, will perform official duties.

This will be the 50th group of candidates inducted into the Teacher Education Program since formal ceremonies began in 1991. Parents and friends of the candidates are invited, along with UNI faculty and administrators. A reception will follow in the GBPAC lobby.
