UNI Center for Energy & Environmental Education to host webinar series

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The University of Northern Iowa's Center for Energy & Environmental Education (CEEE) will offer a new interactive webinar series starting on Wednesday, Feb. 20. The three-part series, called "Green Celebrations," will focus on the ecological impacts of consumption and will highlight steps Iowans can take to be more environmentally friendly. 

Sessions are designed for community leaders and educators, such as extension specialists, naturalists, wellness professionals, congregational leaders and librarians. The first session, at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 20, will provide information on why people should rethink holiday celebrations. On Wednesday, Feb. 27, participants will learn how to celebrate holidays and other occasions in more environmentally friendly and meaningful ways. Finally, on Wednesday, March 6, the session will help participants make a plan to implement the course material within their own communities. All sessions will be held at 1:30 p.m.

The series is jointly provided by the CEEE and Iowa State Extension & Outreach. Green Celebrations is part of the UNI CEEE Reclaim Your Holidays initiative.
