CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – TheatreUNI will present "Doubt: A Parable" April 5 through 8 and 12 through 15 in the Bertha-Martin Theatre in the Strayer-Wood Theatre complex. "Doubt," by John Patrick Shanley, won the 2005 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and Tony Award for Best Play.

"Doubt" continues to be a timely play as the question of trust continues to be asked throughout the world. When should we trust? Whom should we trust? Why must we trust? Must we live in a world of doubt, suspicion and fear? Set in a parochial school in 1964, "Doubt" focuses on the charismatic Father Flynn and his interest in a young student, a naïve young nun and the skeptical nature of the school’s principal, Sister Aloysius. "Doubt" is a tense, dramatic examination of the potential danger of blind trust and the roles of men vs. women, faith vs. doubt and tradition vs. change.

Directed by Steve Taft, the artistic staff of "Doubt" includes scenic design by Jordan Andrews, light design by Ron Koinzan, costume design by Emily Peck and sound design by Jacob Barnwell. The stage manager is Maddie Grissom.

Tickets are $20 for adults and free for UNI students with their UNI ID card. Tickets can be purchased from the Strayer-Wood Theatre lobby box office between noon and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. The box office opens one hour before curtain time.
