CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- Theatre UNI's Off-Hudson Play Reading Series will conclude this season with 'By 'n' By,' by Kim Hines, at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 22, in the Communication Arts Center, Room 108. This will be the premier reading of 'By 'n' By' as a completed script.

'By 'n' By' tells the story of an African-American woman from the 1930s who has seen a grim future for her family and consults a psychic from another time to help her change the past to save the future. Hines, a Minnesota native, recently directed the March Theatre UNI production of 'Roosters.'

The reading is directed by Scott Nice, assistant professor of theatre, and features UNI students; Jeff Johnson, a junior from Lake View; Gretchen Carter, a senior from Sioux City; Nick Hodge, a sophomore from Marion; David Myrick, a junior from Newton; Sarah Noll, a senior from Dubuque; Kiersten Malo, a senior from Gurnee, Ill.; and Jennifer Beers, a junior from Cedar Falls.

The series, begun in 1992, returned this fall following several years' hiatus to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Strayer-Wood Theatre. The performance is free of charge. For more information, visit, or call the Strayer-Wood Box Office at (319) 273-6381.
