CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- TheatreUNI will present the musical "RENT" at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 29; Friday, Oct. 30; Thursday, Nov. 5 through Saturday, Nov. 7; and at 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 1 and Sunday, Nov. 8. Performances will take place in the Strayer-Wood Theatre complex on the University of Northern Iowa campus. "RENT" deals with issues of diversity and the scourge of the AIDS epidemic as well as gender identity issues, drug addiction, racial conflicts, class conflicts and feminism.
In conjunction with the production, an exhibition will be held from noon to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, starting Oct. 15, in the Strayer-Wood Theatre lobby. The exhibit will have displays of informational graphics, photographs and other items related to the show, and will include the use of videos and music. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
The creation of the lobby exhibition is sponsored by UNI's Reaching for Higher Ground initiative.
