CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- Registration is now open for the management workshop "I Hate People," hosted by the University of Northern Iowa's Executive Development Center. The workshop is scheduled 8:30 a.m. to noon, March 8, in the Business and Community Services Building on the UNI campus. The registration deadline is Thursday, March 1.

No matter how small or large an organization, eventually employees work with people they can't stand. At times strong leaders are part of a team that accomplishes less than what they could by themselves, and leaders settle for mediocre results just to keep the peace with the team. During this workshop, instructor Amy Campbell will help participants develop tactics to work cooperatively and productively with coworkers and will review strategies to get work done in an environment that's polluted by time-wasters, interrupters and lazy colleagues.

The cost is $125 per person. UNI Alumni Association members receive a 10-percent discount. Businesses can purchase a consortium membership for $1,999, which entitles the business 10 seats to any of the 2012 management training workshops (20 workshops are scheduled for 2012). Half-day workshops only count as a half seat. After the 10 seats are used, additional seats can be purchased at a discounted rate of $175 per seat.
