Pentatonix brings pop a capella sound to the GBPAC Oct. 2

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – Pentatonix, a trendy a capella group and winners of season three of NBC's "The Sing-Off," will perform at the University of Northern Iowa's Gallagher Bluedorn Performing Arts Center (GBPAC) at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 2.

UNI student pre-sale tickets go on sale at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 3; general public tickets go on sale Wednesday, Sept. 10.

Pentatonix is comprised of lead vocalists Scott Hoying, Kirstie Maldonado and Mitch Grassi, vocal bass Avi Kaplan and beatboxer Kevin "K.O." Olusola. This a capella quintet is internationally known and loved for their instrument-free music. From original tracks to their intricate reimaging of pop hits, the group quickly developed an entirely unique sound and style. Their third and most recent release – PTX Volume 2 – debuted at No. 10 on the overall Billboard Chart and No. 1 on its Independent Album Chart.

This show is being presented in partnership with UNI's Campus Activities Board, a student-run event programming organization.

Students interested in pre-sale tickets must buy them in person with their student ID at Maucker Union or the ticket offices in the GBPAC or McLeod Center. Tickets on sale beginning Sept. 10 will be available at, 319-273-SHOW (7469) or stop by the ticket offices.
