CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – Lisa Birley Baronio has been named vice president for University Advancement and president of the UNI Foundation at the University of Northern Iowa. She will assume her new duties at UNI on July 15.
"Lisa is an accomplished fundraiser with experience in executive leadership," said UNI President Bill Ruud. "She has a strong track record of strengthening fundraising programs, as well as comprehensive fundraising, volunteer management, campaign and major gift experience. I am excited that she will be bringing those skills and expertise to the University of Northern Iowa."
Baronio is a Waterloo native. She earned her bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Iowa in management science, a Bachelor of Arts degree in computer science from the University of Iowa and an executive MBA from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Prior to coming to UNI, Baronio served as vice president for Alumni Relations and Development at Trinity University in San Antonio, vice president for development at the University of Connecticut Foundation, associate vice president for development at the Wichita State University Foundation and director of corporate relations at the University of Nebraska Foundation.

Baronio replaces Bill Calhoun, who is retiring from the vice president for University Advancement and president of UNI foundation position on June 30 after 34 successful years at UNI.
