CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- Registration is now open for the three-day training program "Professional Project Management" hosted by the University of Northern Iowa Executive Development Center. The training program runs 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., May 9-11, in the Business and Community Services Building on the UNI campus. The registration deadline is April 25.

This hands-on course presents a framework for managing projects of varying size and scope and is the starting point for improving organizational effectiveness regardless of organizational size, type or industry. It is designed for professionals who are new to formal project management as well as experienced project managers looking to brush-up on their skills.

Participants will be introduced to a systematic approach to managing projects including identifying the project scope, evaluating alternative project approaches, selecting a value-based solution, developing various component plans (risk management, communication, procurement, etc.)  and then integrating these into a comprehensive implementation plan.

The cost is $995 for three days of instruction plus $300 for class materials, professional development units, lunches, refreshments and parking. Completion of this three-day course earns 18 professional development units that can be used to earn a project management designation from the Project Management Institute.
